Hi everybody On February 14, 2020, U.S. house of representatives speaker nancy pelosi Speaking at the opening day of the Munich security conference Countries should stay away from Chinese technology company Huawei when building 5 G networks And it’s an unrealistic denigration of Huawei And at the press conference Fu ying, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs committee of the National People’s Congress And it won the applause of the audience And then on February 17th Us government plans to limit the amount of parts produced in the us that are exported to China From the previous 25% to 10% , to stop the overseas foundry factories Companies such as tsmc provide chips to Huawei A day later, on February 18th A federal judge in Texas Rejected Huawei’s lawsuit last year alleging that the U.S. government was unconstitutional Just in the eyes of everybody As the first phase of a trade war between China and the United States gradually moves away Huawei has been thrust into the spotlight again I showed you that before China, the world’s four largest telecommunications equipment maker, has two Huawei and ZTE Corp. Two European Swedish Ericsson and Finnish Nokia And the United States doesn’t have a card table So it must be very strange Why the United States is the world’s largest economy Technological prowess has always led the global superpower There’s not even one in the field of communication equipment manufacturing American tech companies that used to be a big company Where are the likes of lucent and Motorola? So I’m gon na talk to you about that today How America’s communications industry has fallen Let’s start with lucent and talk about lucent It goes back to the famous ” father of the telephone “, Bell. Yes, that bell that “invented ” the telephone. Why do invent need to be quoted? Because actually the first person who actually invented the telephone was not bell It’s antonio muchi, an Italian Just because he didn’t get the patent right So the title of ” the inventor of the telephone ” was given to bell The same thing happened to Edison, the inventor of the light bulb. So how important is the patent Okay, back to bell Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1847 And then move to Canada and the United States In 1876 bell, 29 years old, had successfully patented the telephone Become the ” father of the telephone ” And in 1877 the next year, the bell telephone company was founded And then 18 years later, 1895 The bell telephone company decided to split the ” long distance business across the United States. ” Start an independent company, and that’s what became known as AT&T. It’s one of the big four operators in the United States right now The Chinese name is ” AT&T Inc. ” AT&T is also very competitive because it’s growing too fast It was only four years old and it merged its predecessor, bell telephone company And then a research department was established in the name of its predecessor This is the famous bell labs. And then as the us economy became number one in the world It’s also the center of global technology development AT&T has exploded, and it’s been in power for almost a century At the same time as the largest operator in the United States It’s also the biggest maker of communication equipment How bad is it, if you don’t understand it You can imagine it’s the biggest operator in China, China Mobile A combination of the largest equipment maker Huawei You can imagine it was a Big Mac in the era of communication But the so-called ” good luck and evil are in the wrong place. ” Too much of an edge will attract people to hate. you’re so arrogant. How do you let others live So the other operators came together A lawsuit brought AT&T to the US government And finally in 1984 America’s department of justice breaks down AT&T, which is the culmination of an antitrust law. Split up a dedicated long-distance telephone service And the new AT&T and the seven local telephone companies that have inherited the name of the parent company ” The seven brothers. ” One of the seven brothers, one of them is Atlantic bell That was the predecessor of Verizon, which was later than AT&T And the other one is southwest bell, this little brother is a little bit more cattle, and then in 2005 The successful acquisition of AT&T, the former parent company, back over 100 years ago AT&T’s merger with bell phone, the history of AT&T is pretty much the same This time AT&T was broken up, but it didn’t hurt. Still dominates the U.S. communications industry Meanwhile, in the Far East, China has just opened its door to a new era of reform and opening-up. Just three years after AT&T was broken up, in the southern border, near Hong Kong’s Shenzhen A small company that makes sales agents for a manufacturer in Hong Kong. It’s called Huawei At that time, China and the United States, I’m afraid nobody would have thought of that Thirty years from now, the top job in the communications industry will be easy By 1994, AT&T had a turnover of $ 70bn More than three other big companies combined: Exxon, mobil and General Electric Even more so AT&T has a near-monopoly on long-distance and local business in the United States and Canada That makes it hard for all the other American competitors to look at it And as I said, AT&T is not only a carrier, but also a communications device This makes other opponents hate their teeth. what do they do? they just keep going. But when you just tear it down and you have to take it apart, it doesn’t work that way This time they found a different kind of helper, the greedy Wall Street Why did the big Wall Street guys come to help with this, besides being profitable The shareholders behind AT&T’s competitors are the big guys Of course, Wall Street wouldn’t be as cool as the government And what they do best is the trick, they give AT&T the benefit of N split Like if you have the network equipment department independent So all the other operators can buy their equipment Imagine if Huawei is now part of mobile So the unicom and the telecom will not buy Huawei equipment As I mentioned before in the 5 G era It’s better to get a wool out of the wool again It’s not going to buy a competitor, Huawei’s Second, Wall Street’s bosses are promising assurances If the internet division is broken up, I can make it the speed of light Make all of you a millionaire This is a suggestion that puts most of the company’s managers and employees in the same light And the reason for that is very simple, they mostly own the stock of the company And it just happened that 1995 was the year when American stocks took off, and everybody thought The wealth of the stock will be far greater than the profits that the business will bring It seems that everything seems to be perfect Wall Street gave AT&T so many checks, but didn’t mention it. What other carriers will benefit from that So AT&T, after its successful routine, came to the palace in 1995 The most lethal breakup Separate the original company’s network equipment department. And give the new company a catchy name, which means bright and beautiful The Chinese name is lucent. And then less than a year later, in February of 1996, with the investment bank Lucent went public, raised $ 3 billion, and lucent’s market value was $ 18bn. At the same time, the US Congress deregulated the us telecommunications industry Allowing more enterprises to enter the operational competition of telephone service And that’s what drives the infrastructure companies Lucent, nortel and Motorola are building networks for operators But the spending frenzy on telecoms equipment is not sustainable The company overbuilt, the customer overborrowed, just like the American housing bubble Credit eventually dries up and boom collapses In December of 1999, lucent’s stock price exceeded $ 84 in market value of more than $ 250 billion After reaching its highest point in history, lucent issued a profit warning for the first time in a year. As a result, the stock plummeted 28% in one day. And at about the same time, Huawei is still working hard. Ren writes ” Huawei’s winter ” and shakes the industry Or put it more bluntly: Huawei is still struggling At that time Huawei did not have the power to compete with these more powerful rivals. Since then, lucent’s share price has plummeted, hovering below $ 1. It was a huge loss of $ 4.7bn in fiscal 2001 It was only five years before lucent was released. Lucent was thinking of the Wall Street titans who had been called the brothers. So you want to go through the reverse stock split plan to get the stock back up to $ 20 a share But the proposal was flatly rejected by Wall Street: would you dare to move my money? Don’t want to live, my money is my money, your money or my money Wall Street again The old ways of breaking up, going public, speculating on the stock price, cutting leeks, retaking, and cutting An investment bank called Lehman Brothers jumped out and gave the company three months to go Let it quickly get rid of the losing department Otherwise you’ll have your credit rating at a junk level, and you’re going to go bankrupt This brother, do you want to be a good person, or you will be punished. Yes, a few years later, Lehman Brothers was in the face of the 2008 financial tsunami The first one was killed Split is a double-edged sword, whether it’s AT&T, eBay, HP, or lucent. They’re all going down the river, but Wall Street, what’s your life? And lucent, who had been cut out of leeks, went through the bribery door investigation After a few years of struggle It was eventually merged with alcatel in 2006, and the new company was called arang. And in 2015, he was fully acquired by Nokia Since then, America’s telecoms equipment giant lucent has died Okay, so with lucent, let’s look at another giant, Motorola Motorola was originally calvinist, founded in 1928 Named after Paul calvin, one of the founders In 1969, a major event in human history, Armstrong landing on the moon It was a small step for him, a giant leap for mankind Video and audio of the whole process And it was through the equipment from Motorola in Chicago that sent back to earth To be the highlight of Motorola Four years later, 1973 Motorola engineer Martin Cooper invented the first cell phone to go down in history In addition to cell phone terminals and network equipment Motorola has made a lot of inroads in the semiconductor industry Chips, digital signal processors, and others are among the world’s largest But one can not always be at the top, and for a company In the mid to late 80s Motorola faces a painful blow to its fate And that’s known as the iridium project. One of Motorola’s engineers Bary Bertiger ( Bary Bertiger ) when he was vacationing in the Caribbean Complain that you can’t reach your customers by phone So there was a crazy idea in Barry’s mind Is it possible to use a lot of satellites to make a global communications network What about global conversation? Yeah, why not? According to the assumptions of Barry and two of his colleagues With 77 near-earth satellites, you can do that They also have ” iridium ( ” ), which has a periodic table of 77. To name the system The guy’s crazy, the consequences are serious This crazy iridium project was flatly rejected by Barry’s director But he was the chairman of the board who was retiring And it’s also the son of Paul calvin who is the son of the founder But what Robert never thought of was that And his decision gave them a communication empire that they had worked hard all their lives to build Dig a big hole In 1997, the third generation of the calvin family Robert calvin’s son, Chris, officially became CEO of Motorola Iridium is also officially launched The next may, the star mission was completed The cloth was pretty fast, but it was really bad Iridium’s phone costs $ 3000 per minute, $ 3 to $ 8 per minute It’s so expensive, it’s so prohibitive, it’s a lot less users And the company is paying interest on loans of up to $ 40 million a month So in August of 1999, after defaulting on a $ 1.5bn loan Iridium has filed for bankruptcy protection, less than a year after iridium was launched. And that’s the drag of this iridium project Motorola has been hit hard by the mobile and semiconductor markets The phone was overtaken by Nokia, and the CPU was routed by Intel. The DSP aspect is also being overhauled by Texas instruments But the most important thing is that it’s missing out on a single roll And it may be an opportunity to change the course of the communications industry in the future And that’s the acquisition of Huawei In 2003, Motorola made up for its core network technology Huawei plans to buy Huawei for $ 7.5bn It was a year of negotiations, and by 2004 Ren thinks Huawei’s winter is a bit cold The company has been around for more than a decade, but has been playing with the poor countries of Asia. So the demand for the Motorola acquisition Mr Ren finally gave a clear answer: it is impossible to make a joint venture. If you want to buy, you get $ 10bn in cash Take Huawei and bring products and bases, and take them away Yeah, you heard me right Huawei, which has revenues of 850bn yuan in 2019 It was worth 10 billion dollars So will Motorola eventually buy Huawei? It’s just the last three generations, the acquisition talks are going to be in the final stages Chris galvin left office under pressure The new CEO, ed sundar, took over three fires and thought it would cost $ 2.5bn more. Buying Huawei, an unknown Chinese company, is too expensive. So they vetoed the deal And that also leaves Americans with the opportunity to lose perhaps the only opportunity to own Huawei History is not hypothetical But if Huawei really sold it to Motorola, you can’t imagine What the communications industry is going to look like Once this deal is formed Will Huawei save the Motorola, or the Motorola destroy Huawei We don’t know But anyway It will not only change the course of the telecoms industry And it’s gon na change the balance of the technological Cold War between China and the United States Renouncing Motorola And that’s when we basically abandoned the independent R&D of the core communication devices Focus on the mobile phone business And then Motorola went down And that of course is being targeted by Wall Street titans ” Let me give you an idea. ” ” You. what can you break? ” ” We break up, go public, cut Chinese chives a dragon service. ” And it turns out that the bike is successful Motorola’s semiconductor division was spun off in 2004 Freescale was founded, and Motorola has been struggling to keep up with the mobile phone business And the last thing that struck Motorola was Intel It came up with a Wimax standard in 2007, which was called 3.5 G And he’s pulling a ticket company with him, and Motorola is in the middle of it The results are from North America to Australia, from Japan to Taiwan A one-vote communications company was killed by it In 2009, Canada’s benchmark equipment maker nortel: In the same year, Motorola’s wireless network was made by nsn. Nokia Siemens NSN And since then there has been one less company in the United States that can make cell towers and other communications networking equipment In 2011 Motorola is split into Motorola mobility and Motorola solutions In August of that year, the first company Motorola mobility was acquired by Google for $ 12.5bn So now let’s go back and we know that What Google wants is just 17,000 patents for Motorola mobility And then all of that, in 2014, Motorola was sucked out of the patent Google was sold to Lenovo for $ 2.9bn at a discount And in 2004, freescale, which was spun off in 2004, was put under the door After that, the motor company’s freescale brand was officially discontinued Now, Motorola is the only Motorola solution that’s still going on But it also has to produce some radio and handheld scanners It’s not the same as the one that was able to launch satellites and kill all four of them. Leave a Motorola name in the air Okay, so far And that’s how the two most powerful manufacturers of communication equipment in the United States are going to go down It also made the United States completely uncompetitive in the 5 G era Other American telecommunications companies like Cisco Infrastructure for routers, servers, switches, optical fibers, and so on But you can’t compete with Huawei on communications network equipment Huawei can be deployed from a 5 G base station to a server Plus Huawei has a clear advantage in 5 G technology and patents Cisco can’t afford to keep up with the big picture in the U.S. communications industry And Qualcomm took a lot of years of CDMA patents and made a lot of money So it became a ” traitor ” to wimax, a ” traitor ” who survived to the present. And then Qualcomm, which got a good taste of it, just wanted to sit on the patent To sell its chip design division to broadcom, let the president of the United States stop How do you greet people when you go out and sell them like this? But even Qualcomm’s phone chips are still very much designed But the network equipment like the base station is completely uninitiated And then finally, the lonely Intel After the death of a communications enterprise in 2007, the death of the United States A decade later, apple has taken a hit. Making the iPhone 10 the worst iPhone ever. The good news is that apple is not going to be killed, and presumably Intel will never touch again Since then, China’s Huawei and Sweden’s Ericsson have been formed in the 5 G era. Finland’s Nokia and China’s ZTE are firmly in the market The United States is trying to crack down on Huawei But you can’t find a company that can support itself Okay, so that’s the maker and leader of the United States from a communications empire To the end of the 5 G era It really can be a lesson for other countries Alright, so this is the video I’ll see you in the next video

  5. Come November Nasty Pelosi will be voted out. She is a sellout to the big Bankers.

  27. Thanks so much for this video! I actually have a high school classmate who worked for the Bell Lab then Lucent then… I have forwarded this for his comment.Meanwhile, can this video be seen in China instead of on YouTube? I really wish to share this with others so see if you can make this happen!Thank you again and good luck!
