11am Update: WBZ Storm Watch Weather Alert

LOT OF FOLKS. YEAH, IT’S REALLY RAMPING UP, AND THIS IS GOING TO CONTINUE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. THE SATELLITE AND RADAR SHOWS THE BANDS COMING UP JUST SOUTH OF THE ISLANDS. I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED TO SEE THE RAIN PICK UP AND THEN THE SHOW. LONELY ACTION ALONG BOSTON AND IT’S A LIGHT FLURRY AND 29 IN BOSTON WITH THE SNOW COMING DOWN AND THEN THE DEEPER THROUGHS THAT ARE INDICATED HERE. THE TEMPERATURES ARE IN THE 20s NOW, AND WE’RE GOING FALL INTO THE TEENS THIS AFTERNOON. STRETCHING BACK UP AND THEN MANCHESTER RIGHT NOW. IN AND AROUND THE CITY IS JUST SOUTH AND WEST OF TOWN. WE HAVE THE DEEPER BLUES ALL THE WAY I STRETCHING BACK DOWN TO TONTON. ALONG ROUTE 21 HAD REPORTS OF THUNDER SNOW WITHIN THE LAST 40 MINUTES OR SO IN MANSFIELD TO TONTON AND THE FLAKES ARE MIXING IN THE CAPE COD. YOU CAN SEE THAT MIXING IN AND THAT WILL CONTINUE TO PRESS SOUTH AND EAST HERE. JUST HAD A REPORT FROM BLARE PERKIN THAT SAID THAT THE RAIN JUST BEGUN, AND IT’S GOING MAKE A CHANGE. HOUR BY HOUR AND WITHIN THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS, NOTICE THE RAIN MID-AND OUTER CAP AND THEN THE COLDER AIR PUSHES IN FOR US AS WELL. A LOT OF FOLKS WATSING ON THE SNOW FOR CAPE COD. WE WILL SEE IT BY 1:00 OR 1:30 THIS AFTERNOON. AT THAT POINT, WE’RE IN THE TEENS IN LAND AND NEAR ZERO VISIBILITY FROM THE SOUTH SHORE AND DOWN TO THE CAPE AND WIND GUSTS 20 TO 40 MILES AN HOUR AND THEN GUSTS 408 TO 50 AT THE COASTLINE AND THEN A FEW HIGHER GUSTS. THE WIND STARTS TO SHIFT AROUND ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE STORM AS IT WRAPS UP AND DRAGGING IN THE COLDER AIR ON THE BACK EDGE AROUND 6:00 AND AROUND 128 BY 637 AND THEN BOSTON BY 7:38. TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE 21 AT THAT POINT BUT THE WIND CHILL IS COLDER. THERE MAYBE HIGHER AMOUNTS THAT DO SET UP AND THE TWO TO THREE HOUR INCH BANDS AND THEN LONG THE VALLEY IS WHERE WE’RE TALKING EIGHT TO 14 AND THEN THE AMOUNTS DO DECREASE IN NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND AND FOUR TO EIGHT IN NANTUCKET AND THEN EIGHT TO 14 ON THE PORTIONS OF THE CAPE. THE WINE IS GUSTY OUT THERE. WE HAVE SEEN SOME AT 40 AND 50 AT THE COAST. YEAH, IT’S INCREDIBLE. ALL AFTERNOON THE WINDS ARE STRONG FROM TIME TO TIME. THE CURRENT GIND GUSTS IS 45 MILES AN HOUR AND THEN 46 — ONCE YOU GET FURTHER IN LAND SH IT’S NOT AS GUSTY, BUT ENOUGH TO RATTLE THE TREE BRANCHES OUT THERE. IT’S ALONG THE COAST AND ISLANDS WHERE WE HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR WIND DAMAGE AND ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES AND ESPECIALLY TO THE SOUTH AND EAST WHERE YOU GET THE SNOW AND IT COVERS THE BRANCHES AND LIMBS OUT THERE, AND IT WEIGHS THINGS DOWN, SO KEEP THAT IN MIND FOR LATER TODAY. NORTH EAST WIND AS WE TWO THROUGH HOUR BY HOUR AND 2:00 PAUSING IT HERE AND THEN THE WIND DIRECTION IS A SHIFT. STILL STRONG WIND GUSTS AND PUSHING 40 MILES AN HOUR AS WE GO TO 3:00. THE WIND DIRECTION CHANGING FROM THE NORTH TO THE WEST AS WE GO TO THE SECOND HIGH TIDE OF THE DAY LATER ON THIS EVENING BETWEEN 9:00 AND 10:00. WE DON’T HAVE ANY KOERSLE FLOOD ADVISORIES FOR THE HIGH TIDE TODAY. WE’RE UNDER A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY ALL ALONG TO THE CAPE AND THE ISLANDS WHERE WE HAVE HAD A LITTLE BIT OF A STORM SURGE. ONE TO 1.5 FEET OF EXTRA WATER ON THE HIGH TIDES AND THAT’S HIGH BECAUSE OF THAT FULL MOON COMING OUT, SO SOME OF THESE LATEST STORM REPORTS CALL FOR SIGNIFICANT FLASH OVER AND STREET FLOODING. KEEP THAT IN MIND AS KWOOUR OUT OUT. HOPEFULLY YOU’RE NOT OUT DRIVING. IT’S A TYPICAL PRONE LOCATION AND THAT GETS THE FLASH OVER AND SIX TO EIGHT INCHES
