Clinton River flooding park in Sterling Heights

THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO BE IN THE PARK AND HOPE PEOPLE START GETTING OUT OF THE PARK BECAUSE OF THIS RISING WATER. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PUT THE ALARM OUT AT 9:00 A.M. CLINTON RIVER AT 16 FEET AND ABOVE FLOOD STAGE AND RISING. FOR STERLING HEIGHTS AND CLINTON TOWNSHIP. THE CITY OF STERLING HEIGHTS HAD BEEN WATCHING THE RISING WATERS FOR AS MANY AS FIVE HOURS PRIOR TO THE ALERT.>>WE HAVE A COUPLE PUMPS THROUGHOUT THE CITY AND SOME BACK AT THE SHOP WHERE IF WE’RE NOTIFIED OF AN ALARMING EVENT, WE CAN GET THE PUMPS OUT THERE WITHIN FIVE MINUTES TO GET THE WATER DOWN.>>THAT’S A LOT OF WATER.>>Paula: HE LOOKED OUT HIS CONDO WINDOW AND REALIZED HE WAS LAKEFRONT PROPERTY ALL OF A SUDDEN, AND NOT THE GOOD KIND.>>THE TALL STUFF, THAT’S WHERE IT USED TO BE, A THIN BIT OF WATER. THE CITY OF STERLING HEIGHTS HAS A PLAN IN PLACE, SPOTTERS AT CRITICAL BANKS MAKING SURE THE WATER DOESN’T BECOME A NUISANCE AND A DANGER.>>WALK AROUND THE SUBDIVISION WHERE IT MIGHT BE SAFER.
