Franklin County judge executive and fire department collecting donations for flood victims


THE WAY FOR FLOOD VICTIMS IN JOHNSON COUNTY. THE FRANKLIN COUNTY JUDGE EXECUTIVE’S OFFICE HAS TEAMED UP WITH THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO HOLD A DONATION DRIVE TO COLLECT SUPPLIES FOR THOSE IN NEED. W-K-Y-T’S REBECCA SMITH IS IN FRANKFORT WITH MORE ON HOW YOU CAN HELP. REBECCA INTRO: Here in Franklin County, they’re trying to fill this trailer with supplies to be sent to victims of flooding in Johnson County. As you can see, they’re got a ways to go. VO: From cleaning supplies, to baby products anything and everything you can think of is needed for flood-ravaged Eastern Kentucky. The Franklin County Judge Executive’s Office is spearheading the donation drive. Fiscal court employees saw the coverage on the news of all the flooding chaos… and decided they needed to step in and help. SOT: Tambra Harrod/Organizer “You could see the devastation that it would cause to your neighbors and to your families and you friends and this was on such a bigger scale that it really hit home and I wanted to try to do something to help these people out.” REBECCA TAG: There are three drop- off locations you can go to. One is here at the Industrial Park fire station. The other is off Evergreen Road and another is at the Fiscal Court on West Main Street Downtown. In Frankfort, Rebecca Smith, WKYT. THE FRANKLIN COUNTY JUDGE EXECUTIVE’S OFFICE ALSO COLLECTED A LARGE MONETARY DONATION, TO PURCHASE SOME WHEELBARROWS. SUPPLIES WILL BE COLLECTED UNTIL FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
