GOVERNOR BILL LEE – SIGNING AN EXECUTIVE ORDER…. MAKING IT EASIER FOR TENNESSEANS TO RECOVER…. AFTER THE RECENT FLOODING WE’VE SEEN. KRISTIN: THE LAST TWO WEEKS – WE’VE BEEN SHOWING YOU IMAGES OF HIGH WATER…. ALL ACROSS OUR AREA. EVERYTHING FROM HOMES WITH BASEMENTS UNDERWATER…. TO PEOPLE USING BOATS TO GET AROUND. KRISTIN: AND EVEN NOW…. TWO WEEKS LATER…. MANY OF YOU ARE STILL SHARING IMAGES OF FLOODWATERS THAT CONTINUE TO LINGER. KATHY COURTNEY – SHARING THIS PICTURE WITH US TODAY…. SAYING FLOOD WATERS HAVE BLOCKED THIS ROAD IN WHITESBURG FOR THE PAST TWO WEEKS. THE ORDER IS RETROACTIVE TO FEBRUARY 6TH…. RUNNING THROUGH APRIL 7TH. KRISTIN: THIS DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY APPROVE FEDERAL AID FOR TENNESSEE… BUT IT IS THE NEXT STEP IN THE PROCESS. FEMA WILL BE IN TENNESSEE NEXT WEEK SURVEYING DAMAGE. WE’RE TOLD THEY WILL HAVE MORE TO ASSESS…. WHEN WATER COMPLETELY RECEDES.. WE’RE TOLD THAT 775 OF THOSE WERE AFFECTED…. 109 OF WHICH WITH MAJOR DAMAGE. 35 PROPERTIES WERE FOUND TO BE LOST….
