How “Weathered” Rock Played a Role in the Oroville Dam Crisis


So what we’re looking at here are a contrast between relatively fresh volcanic rock and and weathered volcanic rock. That is rock that’s on its way to becoming a soil and you could hear the difference when you try to hit it. I’ll do the fresh first. You hear that, right? Very different. This is all this is almost soil like rotten wood.
