Welcome the Imperial Dam Recreation Area,
a great access point to the Colorado River. The major features here are Senator Wash and
Squaw Lake. Because we’re so close to the Colorado River, folks from all walks of life
can come and enjoy water-based recreation activities. This is a haven for boat enthusiasts,
kayakers, fishermen, jetskiers, or people who just simply want to come out here and
have fun on the water. For a small fee, families can come and use our campgrounds, launch their
boats, and utilize all the amenities that we do provide for the American public. If
you want to do some exploring upstream, a 2-hour boat ride will get you to our Oxbow
Campground. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. Recreation is part of BLM’s
multiple use mission, so this is a great use of America’s public lands. We take pride in
being able to provide a fun family atmosphere for the American public to come and be able
to enjoy. It’s a privilege for us to be able to provide a quality recreation experience.
And when I see people on the water having fun, it really makes my job worthwhile. We’re
here to serve you. Come discover what you can enjoy on your public lands.
