Jase on Life: Extra ► All 4 Adventure TV

Well this is, I think it’s week nine… week
8, week 9, I don’t know days sort of just blur into the next. You know it gets a bit tough out here sometimes. The biggest thing for me is just the time
way. Time away from my kids and my wife. I really miss my kids. I miss my wife, you know. She’s holding the fort back home. She’s a good… she’s a good girl, my wife. She put up with me, and she puts up with…
she puts up with being pretty much a single mum while I’m away. And you know, it’s a bit tough. It’s a bit tough on her and my kids. But when I do get home, I get to spend a lot more time with them then I reckon you normally would. I get to take them to school. And me and my wife, because you know, we work
the business together. You know, she’s my rock, basically. She’s my rock at home. Without her, I couldn’t do what I do. It’s a funny thing, you know. We’ve been married or been together for 20
years, and this little bit of time apart, it just makes you realize how much you do,
you know, you sort of take each other for granted over time. And then when you sort of separate and you’re
apart for those 8-9 weeks a year, you really appreciate each other. And you appreciate your kids, you know. Sometimes you just get too used to the surroundings. So maybe that’s what you got to do there to
put some fire and spark in your marriage. You know if you if you’re feeling a bit mundane,
go on a big trip because then you’ll miss your family, and you miss your wife, and it
will be all like new again. I don’t know whether that makes any sense,
but that’s how I feel anyway.

I spend about 60 nights a year away, it makes the time together more special.
