Lakeshore Flood Warning (EAS #18)


(WARNING ALARM AND ATT. TONE) This is an important message… for the following County: Saint Clair, Michigan. The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a Lakeshore Flood Warning, which is in effect until 6 PM this evening. Lakeshore Flooding… SW wind increases to around 30 miles per hour at times during the afternoon. This is expected to aggravate flooding into Anchor Bay and Harsens Island due to high waves into these shoreline areas. The wind and waves diminish which ends the aggravated flood threat toward evening. IMPACTS… Enhanced flooding of prone areas along the shoreline… Damage to docks, boatlifts, and watercraft anchored along the shoreline. A Lakeshore Flood Warning means that flooding is occurring or imminent along the lake. Residents on or near the shore in the warned area should be alert for rising water… ..and take appropriate action to protect life and property. Prepare, plan and stay informed.
