Monday: Flood warning extended

NO LIFE HAZARD EXISTED. SUSAN: MAJOR THE AIRFARES ARE GOOD TO GO AS WELL. CHARLES: WE’VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THE RIVER LEVELS, BUT IT WILL BE A VERY ONE DAY. DAMON: TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE ABOVE AVERAGE TODAY AND TOMORROW. WE WILL FALL BACK CLOSE TO AVERAGE TOWARD THE LATTER PART OF THE WEEK. THAT IS WHEN THE RAIN COMES IN AS WELL. THIS IS THE VIEW THROUGH THE NORTH OAKS MEDICAL CENTER CAMERA. YOU CAN SEE THAT WE HAVE MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES AND THAT TRACTION AND ACROSS SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA. THAT CLOUD COVER WILL STAY WITH US FOR SEVERAL HOURS. I THINK THE SUN WILL BE OUT LATER THIS MORNING AND INTO THE AFTERNOON. THE PEARL RIVER IS AT 19.85 FEET. THE FLOOD STAGE IS 14 FEET, SO THERE WILL ABOVE FLOOD STAGE THERE. WE ARE FOLLOWING THE RIVER OVER AND COVINGTON. THE FLOOD STAGE IS 20 FEET. AND FOR CLINTON, 15.59 FEET. 12 FEET IS THERE FLOOD STAGE. THE TANGIPAHOA RIVER OVER AT ROBERT, THE READING WAS 24.87 FEET AND THEIR FLOOD STAGE IS 15 KEEP FEET SO THEY ARE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE AS WELL. THE GREAT LAKES STATES AND OUT WEST AS WELL, THE NEXT BIG WEATHER MAKER IS MAKING ITS WAY ACROSS THE COUNTRY. IT WILL GET HERE THURSDAY AND MAKE ITS WAY ACROSS LOUISIANA AND STAY THAT WAY FOR FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY. THE LOW-PRESSURE AREA MAKES ITS WAY INTO SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA. WE HAVE THIS FRONTAL BOUNDARY OFF TO THE WEST OF US AND NOT GOING TO CREATE ISSUES FOR US. THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE WE MIGHT SEE A COUPLE OF SHOWERS ACROSS THE NORTH SHORE, BUT A VERY LOW CHANCE OF THAT HAPPENING. WE WILL HAVE A MOSTLY RAIN FREE DAY TODAY AND TOMORROW. THAT RAIN CHANCE GOES UP TO 20% ON WEDNESDAY. THIS IS THE FLOOD WARNING FOR THE URBAN AND SMALL STREAMS FOR SOUTHERN TANGIPAHOA PARISH THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO EXPIRE THIS MORNING. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS EXTENDED THAT UNTIL 4:45 P.M. THIS AFTERNOON. THAT IS AFFECTING OVER 26,000 PEOPLE. THAT IS MAINLY SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 190 DUE TO ALL THE RIVER FLOODING THAT IS TAKING PLACE. THAT AREA IS UNDER A FLOOD WARNING. KEEP THAT IN MIND IF YOU TRAVEL THAT AREA IF YOU TRAVEL THAT DURING THIS TIME OF THE MORNING COULD CLOUD COVER MOVED OUT OF THE AREA. THE RAINFALL POTENTIAL MOVES OUT AS WELL. MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES IS WHAT I’M EXPECTING THIS AFTERNOON. THE POSSIBILITY EXISTS THAT WE COULD SEE A LITTLE BIT OF FAR TONIGHT AND INTO THE MORNING. NOT MUCH POTENTIAL SHOWING UP FOR TUESDAY MORNING OR AFTERNOON. INTO WEDNESDAY, THAT IS ONE RAINFALL CHANCES START GOING UP. I HAVE IT AT A 20% CHANCE FOR WEDNESDAY, BUT THAT GOES UP FOR THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. OUR RAIN CHANCES GOING TO 40% OR 50% ON THOSE DAYS. TEMPERATURES ARE IN THE 80’S TODAY AND TOMORROW. WE ARE BACK IN THE MID TO UPPER 60’S ON FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND PALM SUNDAY.
