RICHARD: THE STORM DID NOT HIT A SINGLE STRETCH OR LEAVE ONE SINGLE PATH OF DESTRUCTION, BUT A RIVER OF DESTRUCTION. IT WAS GOING PRETTY QUICK. WE LIVE ACROSS THE STREET. RICHARD: THE RAPID FALL OF WATER SENT SWOLLEN STREAKS AND STREAMS RACING OVER THEIR BANKS. PUTTING A PATH OF DESTRUCTION THAT COULD BE HEARD AND FELT THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT. IT WAS PITCH BLACK. IT WASN’T RAINING AT THE TIME, BUT WE COULD HARDLY HEAR EACH OTHER TALK BECAUSE THE CREEK WAS ROARING SO HARD. NUCLEAR BANG, BANG. EVERYTHING WAS HIT. — YOU COULD HE AR BANG, BANG. EVERYTHING WAS HIT. JUST TORRENTIAL RAIN. RICHARD: CREWS WORKED DESPERATELY AND CONDUCTED INTO WATER RESCUES. ACROSS THE COUNTY, PEOPLE SCRUBBED OUT MUD AND RECLAIMING MEMORIES FROM THE MUCK AND ADMIRE LEFT BEHIND BY THE RAGING WATERS. — AND MIRE LEFT BEHIND BY THE RAGING WATERS. ELISE JESSE — JENELL : AUTHORITIES HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THREE PEOPLE DIED. THREE PEOPLE DID SURVIVE. YOU COULD SEE SOME OF THE FLOOD DAMAGE HERE. THE FAMILY’S MOBILE HOME WAS JUST BACK THERE. THE CURRENT OF THIS GREEK WAS SO STRONG IT KNOCKED THE TRAILER HOME OFF OF ITS ADDITION AND SWEPT IT DOWN THE CREEK. THE MOTHER WAS SIX MONTHS PREGNANT WITH A BABY GIRL. HER SEVEN OLD AND FIVE-YEAR-OLD ALSO DIED WHEN THE TRACTOR HOME WAS SWEPT INTO THE GREAT. HER SON AND HUSBAND ALSO SURVIVED. HE WAS FOUND ALIVE 20 YARDS. SHE ENJOYED PAGEANTS. HER SONS AND DAUGHTERS BOTH PERSIST PAINTED — BOTH PARTICIPATED IN PAGEANTS. THE FAMILY WERE GREAT PEOPLE. I HAD ALL OF THE KIDS IN SCHOOL. WE WILL ALL PULL TOGETHER. THEY ARE GOOD, HARD-WORKING HONEST FOLKS. JENELL: BACK OUT HERE, FAMILY MEMBERS RETURNED TO TRY TO SALVAGE SOME OF THE FAMILY’S BELONGINGS. A SHERIFF DEPUTY SAYS THEY WERE NOT ALONE.
