DID A TORNADO HIT IN PARTS OF WESTMORELAND COUNTY LAST NIGHT? WE’RE STILL WAITING FOR WORD ON THAT. BUT THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IS SCHEDULED GO OUT TO THE AREA LATER TODAY AND TELL US IF A TORNADO DID HIT THERE. TAKE A LOOK AT SOME PICTURES HERE. THIS IS A FUNNEL CLOUD THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY THEY SAW. AND IF YOU ASK THEM, THEY SAY YES, IT WAS A TORNADO. JUST ABOUT 8:00 LAST NIGHT, A TORNADO WARNING DID GO OUT AND PEOPLE WITNESSED THOSE FUNNEL CLOUDS AND THEY SAW HEAVY RAIN, LIGHTNING AND A LOT OF FALLEN TREES AND THE HARDEST HIT AREAS SEEM TO HAVE BEEN MOUNT PLEASANT TOWNSHIP AND UDALE ROAD AND ROUTE 982 ALSO HIT HARD THERE. THE STORM ALSO BROUGHT DOWN POWER LINES. WHEN THE STORM ROLLED THROUGH, WEST PENN POWER REPORTED THAT SOME 1500 CUSTOMERS WERE IN THE DARK. MOST OF THOSE FOLKS HAVE SERVICE AT THIS HOUR. SO WE’LL HAVE TO WAIT FOR WORD FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TODAY TO FIND OUT IF A TORNADO DID HIT SECTIONS OF
