Tsunami of accolades for Moana continues

Disney’s Moana has received positive
critical acclaim from young and old, and even at the
Hollywood box office. The national body
for Maori in screen production says they’re honoured by the beautiful depiction
of the Pacific in the film. Hania Douglas has this report. A world-first
in mainstream animation. Hineani Melbourne
of Nga Aho Whakaari says it’s something to be celebrated. Melbourne also commends
the many Maori who were involved in the film that attempts
to share the stories of Polynesia. But she encourages people
to see the lighter side of the film. Unless we’d like to do it ourselves. Take up the challenge if you dare. Hania Douglas, Te Karere.
