 The Environmental Agency has issued 72 flood warnings and 107 flood alerts across England as the Met Office issues one amber and two yellow weather warnings for rain Shoppers at Meadowhall shopping centre have been told not to leave as the roads surrounding the centre are posing a threat to life Torrential downpours across northern England have brought about significant disruption on the roads and train lines But which areas are worst hit by the flooding? The Met Office has warned of “prolonged and occasionally heavy” rainfall throughout Thursday and Friday, with up to three inches falling in some areas  The Amber warning covers Sheffield, Huddersfield and Doncaster. The area is causing flooding and disruption with damage to some building possible  The Met Office warning reads: “Fast flowing or deep floodwater is likely, causing danger to life  “Delays and some cancellations to train and bus services are likely.  READ MORE Met Office weather warnings: SHOCK amber alert for rain mapped  “Spray and flooding probably leading to difficult driving conditions and some road closures  “A good chance some communities cut off by flooded roads. “Power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses likely ” The warning is in effect from 7am on Thursday to 6am on Friday. The yellow warnings are in effect across northern England including Lincoln, Leeds, Sheffield, Hull, Scarborough, Middlesbrough and parts of Manchester  This warning is in effect from 6am on Thursday through to Friday at 6am.  The second yellow warning covers a portion of North Wales including St Asaph, Wrexham and parts of Chester  This warning is in effect from 9am to 11.59pm on Thursday.  READ MORE BBC weather: ‘Significant falls of snow’ cover Europe  The intense rainfall has so far caused intense disruption to roads across northern England, particularly Sheffield  A councillor has said Sheffield is facing a “full-blown flood incident”. So far, the M1 junctions at Meadowhall are closed due to gridlock  A Christmas event at Meadowhall Shopping Centre, near Sheffield, has in fact been cancelled due to the scale of flooding  Police are now telling people in Meadowhall not to leave the shopping centre and await further updates  Heavy rainfall has closed several roads in Leicestershire while homes at Whiston near Rotherham have also been flooded  The A1 northbound is closed between B6325 Great North Road (North Muskham) and A6075 Ashvale Road (Tuxford Junction, Tuxford) in Lincolnshire   One lane of the M1 southbound has been closed between junction 40 near Ossett and 39 at Denby Dale Trending  Do not travel warnings have been issued to rail passengers on flood-hit routes  Rail commuters across Derbyshire, Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, South and West Yorkshire are facing issues  The flooding has closed lines between Sheffield and Gainsborough, Sheffield and Lincoln and Hebden Bridge and Manchester Victoria  Rotterdam Central and Kiveton Park railway station are also closed due to flooding  All lines between Todmorden and Rochdale have also been blocked. Trains are also not stopping at Hadfield in Derbyshire due to the adverse weather  Rail travel disruption is also in effect between Chester and Crew due to flooding on the tracks  However, some services are running through those stations which have been cancelled
